model and prototype development

as important as anything as a designer is being able to quickly prototype your ideas, both digitally and physically. so i learned how to rapidly prototype using all sorts of tools, from table saws to lathes to vacuum formers to duct tape. i learned about different materials and the different benefits each one presented, such as foam is great if you need something done in an hour, but plastics work better if you want a more refined design. click on a photo below if you want to know what is happening. otherwise, just enjoy looking at some crazy photos of me doing awesomely crazy collaborative stuff. the giant massive suit is a contest called Hardcore Foam Core where we had to design and create an underwater rescue suit in 5 days. so we didn’t sleep for a week; and naturally, we made a fire fighter, the most important underwater rescue machine.
